Recent Trip To The New York International Auto Show

NYIAS2014 (1 of 15)On April 16-18, both myself and Camille were tasked to cover the New York International Auto Show.  On those days we were privileged before the general public to see a lot of the experimental cars and the new 2015 lineups that are coming stateside within the next couple of months. At the show we were both surprised that how far cars and car companies are listening to their customers.  Cars are now coming standard with Internet Radio and smart GPS and other features that people have been asking for years.  Also the safety features that are on the newer models are impressive in their own class.  Being a parent of a pre teen that will be driving soon I am happy to see that the car manufacturers are taking these steps to make sure that people are safe in a accident. Now with that being said, the cars are looking good.

NYIAS2014 (9 of 15)The new Ford Mustang for an example is one car that will be hot this coming up year with sport car enthusiasts.  With it being the 50 year anniversary, Ford pulled all stops to make this years model a special one.  I do not have the full details of what it has under the hood, but what I do have is a picture that will convince you that this will be a beast on the streets!

NYIAS2014 (8 of 15)Also our Creative Director Camille Forté got to live out her dream of being inside of the car that Han from Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift.  The 350Z was a beast to see and I can see why this was a popular car at the show.  The car itself had the feel of the same model that was used in the movie itself.  The make and feel of the car itself made you want to just hot wire it and take it and drift in the streets of New York but the establishment frowns on this type of behavior…..LOL  However overall the car at the show did draw a lot of attention from the attendees at the show and also got a lot of people a close up look at of the more famous cars from the movie series   Overall as we do not cover events or do event photography as much anymore, the show was a success. Car manufactures will have exciting cars for the year to come and also consumers will have a large variation of cars, trucks, and hybrid to choose from.  Also with SMART Cars now becoming more mainstream.  I suspect that within the next 4-5 years that these cars as well as more electric cars will be on the road and that more cities will adapt public charging stations to accommodate these cars. Here is a quick slideshow of some of the cars at the New York International Auto Show #NYIAS
