The shot that made me smile

Ashleigh-0001As a photographer there are those moments where things just come into place at the right moment and time, and this shot (to the right) was one of them.

My daughter visiting from San Francisco was looking outside during the rain and asked “dad it is summer, why is it raining right now?” Well she was in front of our balcony door and I saw this golden moment of getting this shot.  With a few moments to grab my camera I was able to catch her looking into the distance and get this shot. She is very camera shy and was upset at first that I got a photo of her but once she saw it on the back of the camera she was happy with it.

Once I was able to get this shot into post editing there was not much that was needed to be done to this.  I added a black and white feel to it as it shows a very lovely photo of a young girl lost in thought while looking outside.

The important factor is that this picture is not on my desktop, cloud, smartphone, or any other device.  This picture is now hanging on my wall at home.  As a proud father and photographer I felt that this picture like other family memories deserve to be hanging in the home and not hanging on devices.  So the next time you get that “moment” to have a beautiful shot, make sure to have it seen on the wall for years to come and not on a device.

Trust me moments like these only come one in an million 🙂
