What seems only a few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to share a great photography experience with the “ultimate family package”… this was no traditional family portrait session, this was a fantastic day in the park where we saw a young lady find her elegance, a young man find his own groove, and a mother found pride in her children and in herself. From the family’s perspective, they received:
- · High school senior photography – 4 settings
- · Teen photography – 4 settings
- · Family portraits – 3 settings
- · Corporate/social media photography for 3, all settings
- · Multimedia videos to safely present photography (especially for minors/students)
- · All image prints chosen from the day
What we saw from behind the lens was a bit different. The young girl, an aspiring model no less, learned a new definition of beauty and elegance… she arrived shy, but was a confident natural by the time we reached our 2nd setting. Her brother wasn’t much different, and soon realized that he was most attractive when he was just proudly letting his true self come through – not when he was “striking a pose,” and the pictures couldn’t be better. The two came together on the bridge, literally – and we got the most beautiful brother-sister portraits we could ever hope for.
We had a great time; their mother saw them act like these sophisticated young adults she’d never met before. Filled with love and joy, she became the perfect subject of a gorgeous set of corporate and social media headshots and portraits. Together, the family portraits were so genuinely joyful because of the entire experience, they could serve as advertisements for the printing labs we use!
For most photographers it may have seemed like a long day, a lot of locations and a lot of direction, but for us the day just flowed, and we can only hope to have more clients like these! We’ll be giving them lifetime archiving, of course, and if the kids are ever allowed to use standalone digital images, we’ll be digitally protecting and monitoring them, of course.
What’s next? The family has an entire portfolio all their own… that aspiring young model (who really has a chance, by the way) can get model cards, the family can get any of countless holiday card choices, and the mom can spruce up those professional and social networks with some great new pictures – to start. With a package like this, a client can draw products from the images for almost any occasion for a long time; the experience, however, will hopefully last as half as long as the prints!
